TEENAGER Jordan McConomy will laid to rest this weekend after he died following an assault in Derry city centre last Sunday.
The 19-year-old’s remains will leave his home, 99 Rosnagalliagh, at 12.15 pm on Saturday for 1 pm Requiem Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Galliagh.
His remains will be interred in Ardmore Cemetery immediately after the Requiem Mass.
An 18-year-old arrested over his death following an “altercation” in William Street was released from police custody on Wednesday afternoon pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
The death of the former St. Brigid’s College pupil has sent a shock-wave through the local community.
Family members and friends have used social media to convey their anguish.
Girlfriend Leah Kelly has been left devastated at his death.
She posted on Facebook: “The most perfect human being ever, the love of my life x.”
One of Jordan’s friends said: “Jordan you were one in a million and you were taken from us far too soon.
“I am going to miss your smile – it’s impossible for me to put into words what you meant to me.”
Another friend posted: “Rest in peace Jordan, you were one of the nicest boys there ever was.”
