SINN Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper has welcomed the news that new dog waste bins are to be installed in the Duncreggan Road area of the city.Bins are to be installed within the vicinity of Dunvale Park and in the area close to the junction of Duncreggan Road and Strand Road.
Councillor Cooper said: “I had received a number of complaints about dog waste in the area.
“We all know the issues and dangers that dog waste presents.
“With hundreds of people using Duncreggan Road on a daily basis and people out walking their dogs it was important there is provision for these boxes.
“I have received written confirmation from the Council that the waste bins have been ordered and it’s hoped that they will be installed shortly,” added Cllr Cooper.
