POLICE say officers have made an arrest over the burglary and ransacking of Christchurch in Derry last month.
The arrest comes after the PSNI in the city released CCTV images on Wednesday of two people they wanted to speak to about the break in.
Extensive damage was caused to the interior of the building on Infirmary Road including a stained glass window and the church organ.
In a statement this morning, PSNI Foyle said: “Following the release of images yesterday of 2 males we would like to speak to about a burglary at Christ Church last month, a 22 year old has be been arrested and is currently assisting Police with our enquiries.
“Thank you to all who assisted.”
The suspected is currently being questioned at the PACE custody suite at Strand Road police station.
