AN amber weather warning for high winds across Derry and the North West Ireland due to the remnants of Hurricane Ophelia has been brought forward by three hours.
The spell of stormy weather was originally forecast for 3 pm but is now due to begin at 12 midday now..
All schools and further education colleges across the north west and Donegal are closed.
A red alert remains in place for Donegal, meaning there is a danger to life there.
The public is urged to stay safe and not to make any unnecessary travel during the alert.
Keep all pets indoors and secure any outdoor furniture in either garages or sheds.
