DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch have released a man arrestedover a dissident republican shooting in Derry over the summer.
The 26-year-old man was arrested in Drumahoe during a dawn swoop on Thursday.
The arrest under section 41 of the Terrorism Act was made as part of an investigation into the paramilitary style shooting of a 33 year old man at Lisfannon Park in Derry in August 2017.
The suspect was been taken to the serious crime suite in Belfast for questioning.
Police say he has now been released unconditionally.
Under the Terrorism Act, arrested suspects cannot be released on bail.
Since the start of the year there has been 11 shootings by dissident republicans in Derry.
