A protest is being held in Derry today to voice the public’s outrage against the recent rise in paramilitary intimidation and violence on the city’s streets.
The protest will be held in Derry’s Peace Garden at 2 pm.
There have been 11 shootings in Derry since the start of the year
A spokesperson for the event said: “Paramilitary intimidation and violence offers nothing but pain and misery.
“With enough will, threats and attacks can be made a thing of the past.
“In the wake of the recent barbaric shootings and attack on a home in the city, this offers people, from all political traditions and none, an opportunity to bear witness to their abhorrence at ongoing attacks and to explore ways of ending them.”
Police have made a series of arrests in the past number of days
