MAYOR of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Maolíosa McHugh, today launched the annual ‘Santa’s Big Fundraiser Appeal’ at the Guildhall in aid of local charity Children in Crossfire.
From today, Friday, November 24 until December 22, Derry man Martin Gallagher will take part in the month long charity collection vigil at the Guildhall in memory of his son Christopher who died of Malaria in 2006.

Children In Crossfire was founded by Richard Moore.
As a 10-year-old boy, he was shot by a British soldier with a rubber bullet and blinded for life in 1972 ago in the Creggan area of the city.
