THE Met Office issued a weather warning for ice and snow in Derry.
The warning is in place from 6 pm this evening, Wednesday, November 29, to 10 am on Thursday, November 30.
The extent of ice will vary across the area with inland areas most prone whilst coastal areas are less likely to be affected.
The warning also states that 2 cm to 5 cm of snow may accumulate on ground above about 100 metres, with smaller amounts at lower levels.
The advice from police to motorists is slow down, drive with dipped head lights and drive at speed suitable to the road conditions.
In the morning take care on the roads in case some are untreated by gritter crews.
