MAYOR of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Maolíosa McHugh has welcomed the news that Victoria Bridge Cross Community Association in County Tyrone has taken the runner-up award in Category two of the IPB Pride of Place Awards – which is for villages with a population of between 300 and 1000 people.
The winners of the IPB Pride of Place Awards in association with Co-operation Ireland were announced on Saturday night at a gala awards ceremony in Letterkenny.
Mayor McHugh said: “I am delighted that Victoria Bridge has received this prestigious ‘Pride of Place’ award.
“This well-deserved award is testament to the hard work and dedication of volunteers and those involved in local community development who have done so much to transform the village into such a beautiful space for everyone to enjoy and live in.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who participated and helped to achieve this fantastic award for Victoria Bridge.”
