STOP SNOWBALLING CARS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED, SAY POLICE

POLICE are urging young people to stop targeting vehicles with snowballs before it leads to a collision and injury.

PSNI Foyle says its call management centres are being inundated with calls regarding snowballers.

“We have had folk in their 80’s on the phone in tears with snowballs being thrown at their windows.

“One elderly ladys car slid while she was driving. It was hit by a snowball and due to the impact and sudden thud gave her a fright.

“This could happen to anyone and the consequences could be devastating.

“Parents do you know where your children are?

“Talk to them. It may seem like fun to them but we have enough collisions on our roads due to speed, drink and carelessness without this added factor.

“Please be sensible.”
