DETECTIVES have charged a 26-year-old man with a number of offences including attempted murder, carrying a firearm in a public place and discharging a firearm in a public place.
A 28-year-old man has been charged with assisting an offender.
The two men are to appear at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court this morning, Monday, December 11, for a first remand hearing.
As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
The charges are in connection with an incident in which shots were fired in the centre of Garvagh around 3 am on Sunday, December 10.
A man was shot in the leg during the murder bid incident when a total of three shots were fired.
Police sent armed response units to the scene.
