The Foyle MLA said: “I welcome the allocation of £663,000 in funding for environmental improvement schemes from Department of Communities for the north west.
“The schemes will include the upgrading of footways and the resurfacing of carriageways at Lone Moor Road between Letterkenny Road and Brandywell Road, Danesfort and in the Magirr Park area of Strabane.
“This funding will be beneficial for community infrastructure, improving access for residents, upgraded street lighting and improved carriageway-footway links which will enhance accessibility and pedestrian safety.
“These works are due to start in early January 2018 and will run alongside the ongoing redevelopment scheme at the Brandywell Stadium and will run for six weeks,” added the Sinn Fein politician.
