A MOTORIST will be facing a court soon after he was caught speeding at 95 mph in Derry last night.
Police say the driver was detected by officers while out on duty along the Clooney carriageway.
PSNI Foyle said on its Facebook page: “Tonight’s patrols for Waterside Neighbourhood Team consisted of electrocution and prosecution!
“One motorist was detected driving in excess of 95mph on the Clooney Carriageway.
“He’ll be explaining his rationale for that one in court.
“And as far as electrocution goes, well I was being a bit dramatic there but we couldn’t leave the lads with a flat battery off Distillery Brae stuck sideways on the hill after a heroic attempt at a bump start!
“Lucky we had the jump leads in the boot.”
