DETECTIVES are investigating two burglaries in Derry which happened last week.

Police say officers received a report that between midday and 6.25 pm a house in the Riverside Park area of the city was entered on Friday, January 12, and a number of items of jewellery were taken.

A further report was received that between 4.35 pm and 5.30 pm on the same day a house in the College Glen area of the city was entered.

Fortunately for the occupiers, nothing appears to have been taken.

Detectives are probing a possible link between these two burglaries.

They are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incidents or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives in Strand Road on 101 quoting reference 1033 or 1104 of 12/01/2018.

Alternatively, information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on freephone 0800 555 111.
