A SEVERE weather warning for snow and ice across Derry has been issued for this evening until Wednesday.
The Met Office issued the yellow warning for snow and ice for all parts of the North of Ireland as an arctic blast sweeps in.
From 6 pm this evening until 11 am on Wednesday, frequent and heavy hail and snow showers will affect all areas, say forecasters.
Today will see sunny intervals and blustery, heavy showers, turning wintry on hills and even on low ground after dark.
It will be cold, with a maximum temperature of 5C.
Travel delays and the cancellation of public transport are possibilities.
There is also a small chance that power cuts will occur.
In addition, some roads and pavements may become icy over the period, which will increase the chance of injuries from slips and falls.
