INDEPENDENT councillor Gary Donnelly has this evening advised drivers to stay away from Blighs Lane in the Creggan.
In a message on Facebook, he said: “Avoid Blighs Lane at all costs.”
The roads and footpaths in the area are currently treacherous.
A number of cars have already got into trouble, including one which the councillor photographed teetering over the edge of a wall after it lost control in the snowy conditions.
Temperatures are expected to fall overnight with more snow forecast for the coming days.
