THE Met Office says that rain and snow will develop later this evening, with the possibility of severe gales later.
The snow will be mainly on high ground across the south, but to low levels in northern and western counties.
The persistent rain and snow clears the east after midnight, but frequent showers to follow, wintry on hills.
Minimum temperature -1 °C. and the maximum temperature will be around 4 °C.
Outlook for Thursday:
After an icy start it will be a bright day with sleet and snow showers, some accumulations likely on hills, and perhaps to low levels at times. Maximum temperature 4 °C.
Outlook for Friday:
Cold northwesterly winds will bring sleet and snow showers on Friday, these may be heavy in the morning.
Saturday, so far, looks to be a dry.
Outlook for Sunday:
Windy on Sunday with rain at times.
