The ever popular market, organised by Derry City and Strabane District Council on the first Saturday of every month, will feature the usual wide variety of traders offering fresh foods and bespoke handcrafted products such as textiles and paintings.
Nicolle Walters, Market Development Officer, expects the presence of balloon modeller Ryan Tracey and a Circus Skills Workshop provided by In Your Space to give this month’s event an extra dimension.
“We are really looking forward to welcoming our traders back to Guildhall Square after a short break over January and we expect another busy and action packed day with our circus themed entertainment sure to prove an added attraction,” she said.
“Ryan Tracey from Duff Balloons, who many people will recognise from last year’s Britain’s Got Talent series on ITV where he reached the semi-finals, will be in the square from 11am until 4pm demonstrating his skills and making balloon models for young people.
“We are also really looking forward to welcoming the performers from In Your Space who will be delivering a Circus Skills Workshop with tasters sessions of different types on circus skills such as plate spinning and juggling.”
Among the new traders in this year’s market will be Derry woman Deborah Lamberton’s So27 Skincare – a natural skincare manufacturing company that chooses high quality, natural and organic ingredients to create high-end skincare products with a spa feel.
The Walled City Market is open from 11am to 4pm, on the first Saturday of every month and includes street food and a wide range of locally produced craft products.
