THE PSNI in Derry say officers conducted an operation today, Thursday, February 22, against a number of people for criminal offences and unpaid fines.

Police say on its Facebook page: “Foyleside and the Moor Neighbourhood Policing team undertook a joint warrant operation with officers from Strand Road LPT2 today.

“Four people who had been charged with offences and who had failed to attend court were arrested and taken straight to court.

“A number of people who had failed to pay fines were spoken to and paid their fines.👮🏻

“Two people were taken to prison in relation to unpaid fines. 🚓

“If you cannot pay a fine in full, please contact the Court as in certain circumstances, instalments can be paid.📞

“Please do not put your head in the sand and ignore these court orders as Police must enforce warrants, if they locate people to whom they refer.😩 Sergeant D”
