SINN Féin Councillor Colly Kelly has slammed those responsible for illegal dumping beside a walkway between Glenowen and Forest Park.
He said: “I was contacted by residents who were furious at the amount of rubbish that has been dumped beside the walkway that links Glenowen and Forest Park.
” I and another community activist went to the area and were shocked to see the amount of rubbish dumped there.
“It’s scandalous that people think it’s ok to do this and that its someone else’s job to clean it up.
“This type of behaviour should not be tolerated.
“I would appeal to people to desist from this practice immediately and have a bit of respect for the local community and the environment,” he added.
