The haul of power washers seized by police in Derry

POLICE in Derry have arrested two men and charged them to court after seizing a haul of stolen power washers.

PSNI Foyle say officers had received a report on February 25 that five pressure washers were stolen from a local premises valued at £1800.

“Two Ballyarnett NPT officers took up the challenge to locate the offenders and stolen items,” said a police spokesperson for PSNI Foyle.

“By 1030 hours the following morning we had two males arrested and 5 power washers in the back of our vehicle.

“One male was charged to court.

“The second male remained at hotel strand road overnight.

“He was assisting police with a further 8 separate incidents.

“He was subsequently charged to court on a number of offences relating to theft and tendering counterfeit currency.”
