THE inquest into the circumstances of the death of mother of six Kathleen Thompson (47) will begin this month.
Kathleen was shot dead by a British soldier as she stood in the garden of her home in Rathlin Gardens, Creggan, in November 1971.
Kathleen’s family have invited other bereaved families or supporters to join them at Bishop Street. Courthouse on Monday, March 12 for the first day of the hearing.
Kathleen’s daughter Minty will be the first witness to give evidence.
Minty discovered her mother’s body shortly after the shooting.
She was 12 years old at the time.
The inquest will run for one week.
