THE Western Trust says it has held a “very successful” Midwifery taster event at Altnagelvin Hospital.
The event was held to give give students from local schools and colleges across Derry and Donegal who are considering a career in Midwifery an insight into the role of a midwife.
Information on training, qualifications and job roles was shared with approximately 200 students who attended this event.
Anne Love, Volunteer and Work Experience Manager for the Western Trust said: “We are delighted to welcome students from schools in Derry, Limavady, Dungiven, Coleraine, Strabane, Castlederg and Donegal.
“Many students aspire to work in a caring profession and this event gives them the opportunity to ask questions and make informed decisions regarding a future career in Midwifery.
“Students are also advised on how they can get involved with the Trust through the volunteering scheme,” she added.
