MAYOR of Derry and Strabane Maolíosa McHugh came face to face the cast and crew of the smash hit Channel 4 comedy ‘Derry Girls’.
On Sunday, the Mayor hosted at a special reception held in the Guildhall.
The main cast along with Derry-born series creator and write Lisa McGee also attended the event.
The Mayor tweeted today: “Was really pleased to host a reception today for the cast of #DerryGirls at the Guildhall – lovely bunch of people who are doing our city proud.”
The comedy series has become such a huge hit that Channel 4 have already commissioned a second series.
Last month it was revealed that Derry Girls had become the biggest series ever in the North of Ireland since modern records began in 2002.
Derry-born former Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle is also in talks for a part in the second series.
