Fire Service come under attack while putting out fire in Derry

FIRE crews came under attack while attending to an incident in Derry last night.

The Fire and Rescue Service were trying to extinguish a fire that had been set in a tree on the Racecourse Road in the Pennyburn area of the city.

The crew had to abandon their efforts due to “items being chuckled at them”.

PSNI Foyle said on its Facebook page: “The group ran from police one of them left a nice black and red BMX behind. So if Johnny comes home tonight without his bike you can call at Ballyarnett Npt offices to collect.

“Parents do you know where you kids are, who they are with and what they are doing.”
