Police remove another dangerous motorbike from the streets of Derry

THE PSNI have taken another dangerous ‘death trap’ bike off the streets of Derry.

It follows the pursuit of a man in the Galliagh area of the city yesterday.

Now police the owner of the bike and another man who was also in the area on a similar ‘death trap’ scrambler bike.

An officer wrote on PSNI Foyle’s Facebook page: ” So we are on patrol in a bright liveried Shogun vehicle  and notice a death rider  in the area of Bloomfield Park.

“I know what you are thinking he is aware of our previous vehicle seizures  and therefore he gets off the bike apologies and starts to push it home.

“No, not this lad  he decides to stay close but just far enough away.

“He then waves using his middle finger (how rude), beeps his horn, revs his engine and alerts another death rider who comes across on his small blue death bike. A short time later they both race off into the sunset  doing wheelies along the way.

“A quick radio transmission confirms that our DST (District Support Team) colleagues are nearby and travelling towards our new friends.

“As our colleagues approach Bradley’s Pass junction they see our friend in a panic  trying to kick start his nice bike.

“As DST go over to help!!! he starts pushing it up the hill towards Leafair. He then ditches the bike and runs off from our friendly colleagues.

“Considering he was trying so hard to get our attention in the first place why does he run away??. Must be his guilty conscious.

“I do agree with the passing motorist’s  who shouted over, “it is another death trap of the road” .

“We were also informed that he may have come off the bike.

“But this must be a vicious rumour given that they all say “it will never happen to me”.
