Drink driver taken to Strand Road police station to be processed
A hawk-eyed member of the public help police in Derry catch a drink driver in the act yesterday.
PSNI Foyle say on its Facebook page: “While the rest of you were enjoying your breakfast 
☕️ D Section received a call about a possible drunk driver.
“He had moved his car and parked it in a car park while he went to get some scran to sober up 
“Unfortunately, when he returned to his vehicle we were there and he blew almost three times the legal limit 
“He was then arrested and taken to sleep off the rest of his hangover at Hotel Strand Road 
“To make matters worse he forgot to pay and display and also got a ticket from a traffic attendant.”
The driver will soon face Derry Magistrates’ Court where he will be fined and will lose his driving licence for a minimum of 12 months.
