SINN Féin East Derry MLA Caoimhe Archibald has welcomed confirmation from Queen’s University that it has put measures in place to reduce the impact of recent industrial action on students.
The Party’s Further and Higher Education Spokesperson said: “Sinn Féin supported the industrial action taken by staff to defend their pension conditions and acknowledged their efforts to minimise disruption to students.
“However, I also wrote to the Vice Chancellor to ask him to ensure that students did not suffer from the disruption to their studies.
“He has responded to me to confirm that measures are being put in place such as the consideration of deadline extensions and efforts to ensure that material not taught due to the strike action will not be part of assessments.”
