Young people aged 14-18 were invited to attend and enjoy a chill out zone, gaming, cage football, burgers and ice-cream.
The final event formed a part of the Mayor’s initiative – a programme of ‘Game On’ events taking place the length and breadth of the city & district since February 2018 – when young people had the opportunity to take part in fun activities while also identifying what they would like to see in future.
Mayor Mc Hugh said: “I had a really great time at the final ‘Game On’ event in Culmore – including my attempts to ‘flip’ some burgers!
“Throughout my term in office, I have been engaging with young people throughout the city & district who will be responsible for shaping the future of Derry & Strabane.
“Indeed, I have been delighted to hear from all of them during the course of this wonderful series of events!
“I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to all of the young people who participated in this programme.
“I would also like to pay a special tribute to all of the community & voluntary sector organisations who have been involved in – and have fully embraced – this hugely successful initiative.”
The information gathered in each area is being used to tailor a programme of activities based on the young people’s responses. For further information visit www.gameonyouth.com
