SINN Féin Councillor Conchúr McCauley has slammed those responsible for leaving a suspect device in the Drumleck Drive area of Shantallow which has resulted in residents being moved from their homes on Wednesday morning.

Speaking from the scene Councillor Conchúr McCauley said: ” “Whoever is behind leaving this device needs to stop and take stock of their actions.

“They have left this community in fear and caused major disruption in the local area, plus disruption for parishioners going to the Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel and local schools.

“It is obvious that the people behind leaving such devices are out of touch with the will of the vast majority of the people of Shantallow ,” he added.
