MAYOR of Derry and Strabane Council Maoliosa McHugh has hosted a reception at the Guildhall for the owners and staff of Mandarin Palace.
The Chinese restaurant situated at Quay Street was recently voted the best restaurant in Ireland in the Golden Chopsticks Awards 2018.
The Mayor said: “Huge congratulations to staff and owners of Mandarin Palace #Derry on their recent success in winning the Golden chop sticks award for best Chinese in Ireland.
“Well deserved!”
The judges at the Golden Chopsticks awards said of the Derry restaurant:
“Mandarin Palace, in Derry, has been open since 1989, making it a firm favourite in the community.
“The restaurant has a great atmosphere, with the East meeting West in both décor style and food, paired with the stunning panoramic views out onto the river Foyle.”
