DETECTIVES are still awaiting the results of a post mortem examination carried out on a Derry man who was found dead in a hostel in the city.
Thomas Doherty, a father-of-one, was found in his room at a hostel at Crawford Square in the city on Saturday morning.
A PSNI spokesman said police were treating the death of the 27-year-old as suspicious pending the outcome of a post mortem examination.
The spokesman said that while a post mortem has now taken place, they were still awaiting the results of tests.
Mr Doherty’s funeral is taking place this morning at Holy Family Church in Ballymagroarty.
He will buried after afterwards at Derry City Cemetery.
