The band’s impressive career has spanned more than 35 years – with over 30 albums (including 8 Gold Albums), top ten hits and several prestigious awards for best ‘Ballad/Folk Group’.
Indeed, it is no wonder they are classed as Ireland’s Number One Group!
‘The Ramblers’, as they are affectionately known, have performed at major festivals worldwide – including headlining The Milwaukee Irish Festival, The Cleveland Irish Festival, Hollywood Irish Fest, Florida / Miami Irish Fest, Fort Lauderdale and other US / Canadian festivals across North America.
Their music has also taken them all over Europe to rapturous receptions. Indeed, they have performed at every major venue in Ireland and many on the global stage – including Dublin’s National Stadium, National Concert Hall, Cork’s Opera House, England’s Royal Albert Hall and New York’s Carnegie Hall to mention but a few.
The Dublin City Ramblers have also been honoured on several occasions by receiving the ‘keys’ to the cities of Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood (Florida) and Moorehead, Kentucky.
They have also been inducted into the Hall of Fame in The Helen Stairs Theatre in Florida and have received The Arkansas Traveller Award –all normally reserved for visiting dignitaries.
Among their many ardent fans are actress Maureen O’Hara – star of the classic movie “The Quiet Man”, ex-Republic of Ireland managers Eoin Hand, Johnny Giles & Jack Charlton, and a host of other well-known celebrities the world over.
The band has had a long line of members since it formed in the early 70s and Sean McGuinness has kept them going throughout many years, and are now stronger than ever. Don’t miss your chance to see them live!
