POLICE in Derry City and Strabane say they have been working closely over the last 10 days with An Garda Siochana, carrying out patrols on both sides of the border.
It is part of an ongoing crackdown to catch crooks involved in rural crime along the border with Donegal and also those using the border to avoid arrest.
Inspector Redmond of PSNI Foyle said: “We have been working closely in partnership to detect and prevent rural crime with a cross border dimension right across all of our border areas.
“We aim that the Joint Agency Cross Border Task Force will continue this work so for anyone out there who is involved in criminality and thinks that jumping jurisdictions will keep them safe from detection and prosecution…think again.
“If you note anything suspicious in your area as always please feel free to contact the PSNI on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Inspector V Redmond.
