Man released over police probe into dissident republican activity in Derry

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit have released one man detained in Derry this morning over dissident republican activity.

The man, aged 20, has been released unconditionally.

A 30-year-old remains in custody being questioned.

Both men were detained under section 41 of the Terrorism Act in the Shantallow area in connection with an ongoing police investigation into violent dissident republican activity in the city.

The men were taken to the serious crime custody suite in Musgrave PSNI station for questioning.
