Reilly says paramilitary markings are wholly unacceptable

SDLP Derry Councillor Martin Reilly has branded as “wholly unacceptable” the painting of IRA graffiti in a Playpark in the Waterside.

Said Councillor Reilly said: “There should be no place for sectarian graffiti in our city and most certainly not in a children’s Playpark.

“Whoever is behind this needs to stop such activity and let our children enjoy these facilities when the good weather allows free from the paramilitary trapping of our past.

“I have spoken to Council officers to arrange for this to be removed as soon as possible.”
