Two metal thieves arrested and counterfeit goods seized in Derry and Strabane

POLICE say to men were caught “red handed” yesterday for theft which later netted the seizure of counterfeit goods in follow up searches.

A police spokesperson said: “Yesterday afternoon officers from Derry City and Strabane District Support Team apprehended two males helping themselves to a large quantity of metal from a rural commercial premises.

“These males aged 47 and 55 were arrested for various theft related offences and conveyed for a late lunch to custody.

“We’ve held onto their van,trailer and tools.

“During follow up searches in the Drumrallagh area of Strabane and Ardkill area of Derry we located and seized a crossbow and large quantity of counterfeit goods.”
