FANS of the iconic rock and heavy metal band are going to love ‘Seventh Son’ – the North’s only Iron Maiden tribute band – who’ll be kicking off this year’s Strabane Summer Jamm at the Alley Theatre on Friday 22nd June.
One of the most successful heavy metal bands in history, Iron Maiden have sold over 90 million albums worldwide. Their impressive back catalogue includes heavy metal classics such as ‘The Number of the Beast’, ‘Piece of Mind’, ‘Powerslave’ and ‘Seventh Son of A Seventh Son’ – the album from which the tribute band get their name!
The group started playing under the name ‘Seventh Son’ in January 2015 in Armagh – and now have a new line-up consisting of Dave Stewart from Greenisland, Robert Crawford, Ballynahinch, Richard Henry, Garvagh and Mick Browne & Frank Levi from Derry.
They have played all over Northern Ireland – including at the North West 200 and the well-known ‘Rockers ReUnion’ in the Nerve Centre – and have a great following in Dublin.
Speaking about the upcoming performance Mick Browne commented: “We are really pleased to be playing at the Alley Theatre in Strabane – and hope to have a great response to our show covering 45 years of Iron Maiden’s iconic music.
The band has specially selected iconic numbers such as ‘The Trooper’, ‘Aces High’, ‘Hallowed be thy Name’ and ‘22 Acacia Avenue’ to name but a few to be a part of this performance. I have also sought the finest musicians for this band, and we’ve been acquiring a large following for our shows.
“Indeed, if you like your music heavy and loud then you’ll not be disappointed!”
‘Seventh Son’ at the Alley Theatre is the launch event for this year’s Summer Jamm festival in Strabane – a full weekend of live music and family fun activities from 22nd–24th June!
To celebrate, people who are attending ‘Seventh Son’ will receive a free beer on arrival. Tickets are £10 available online www.alley-theatre.com or via the Box Office on 02871 384444.
