CRAFT makers, artists and those selling unique products and who are interested in showcasing them as part of the 2018 Guildhall Craft Fair are urged to submit an application to Derry City and Strabane District Council.
The Guildhall Craft Fair is an annual event which showcases a wide range of bespoke craft items created by craft designer-makers and artists throughout Ireland. This year’s event will run from Friday 23rd until Sunday 25th November, and is one of the main features and attractions of the Council’s Christmas campaign.
The Guildhall Craft Fair is hosted in the historical and very beautiful Guildhall and is supported with a programme of live music and cultural events along with a coffee shop.
The Guildhall Craft Fair is very well established throughout the craft industry and has become a calendar event within the sector due to the high standard of goods for sale resulting from its strict selection process.
It is the event of choice for many makers and artists as no imported or bought in work is allowed at the event, with all of the goods on display being handmade in Ireland.
Applications are invited from craft makers and artists working in ceramics, non-precious and precious jewellery, interior textiles, fashion textiles and accessories, knitwear and woven textiles, leather, print-making, wood, lighting, furniture and product design, glass, metal, basket-making and other miscellaneous crafts.
The event organisers are very keen to get entries from artisan food producers to take part in the Artisan Food Fair that will take place as part of the event.
Application forms can be downloaded from Derry City and Strabane District Council website at www.derrystrabane.com/craftfair or by contacting Council’s Events Team by email on, [email protected] or telephone on 028 7125 3253.
The deadline for entries is – Friday 17 August at 4pm. Product samples can only be submitted to Council between Monday 13th and Friday 17th August.
