LEADING convenience retailer, Centra, owned by Musgrave, has opened its latest new-look store in Limavady, bringing a total of 20 jobs to the local area.
Located at Ballyquin Road, Limavady, the new greenfield store is part of a significant £450K investment by Musgrave and the Wilson family; a well-known local family business.
The bright and contemporary new store marries convenience with an expanded grocery range and food-to-go offering.
The new store has an abundance of household essentials and fresh, locally sourced produce.
Additional amenities in store include Frank & Honest Coffee – the largest coffee brand on the island of Ireland; a Hot and Cold Deli with a plentiful choice of healthy sandwich and salad options, a Mex-a-go Burrito Bar and a Carte d’Or scoop ice cream counter.
For an enhanced shopping experience, Centra Limavady also features a seating area and complimentary Wi-Fi, providing customers with a dedicated space to dine-in and take a break.
The new store’s layout has been designed with the customer journey in mind, with wide aisles and lower shelf heights aimed at improving the shopping experience.
The store, which bears the name ‘Ivan Wilson’ on its fascia is named in honour of the late Ivan Wilson, a well-known local businessman.
His sons Michael and Steven continue his legacy, with this latest addition to the family business, which also comprises a Mace store in Coleraine, licensed premises, a car hire business and Ivan Wilson Fuels Supplies.
The site also includes the first Co. Derry Chipmongers which takes an exciting, modern twist on the traditional fish and chip shop with some delicious food and there is also a pay-at-the-pump forecourt run independently by Nicholl Fuels.
Commenting on the opening, store owner Michael Wilson said customer service is at the heart of their approach: “The Ivan Wilson business is a family business and we are excited, as we celebrate 70 years in business this year, to mark another milestone in opening our new Centra store at Ballyquin Road, Limavady.
“We are proud of our roots in the community in the North West and are pleased to create 20 new jobs and invest significantly in the place where we live and work.
“This new-look store is an exciting and fresh retail concept that will be matched by the first-class customer service, synonymous with the Wilson family name.”
Nigel Maxwell, Centra Sales Director added: “We are delighted to support the Wilson family in this exciting new venture, which brings significant investment to Limavady.
“One of our core objectives as a business is to provide opportunities for local retailers to thrive within their local communities.
“We are confident that our new-look Centra stores offer customers an enhanced shopping experience, where they can get value for money, without compromising on quality. We are sure this new store will be a great addition to Limavady.”
