POLICE in Derry have taken to Facebook to warn members of the public to keep their homes secured after a number of attempted burglaries in the Greenhaw area of Derry on Friday night.
The incidents happened at around 9 pm.
A PSNI officer said he believed “travelling crime gang targeting the elderly and nicer houses’ to be behind the incidents”.
The officer wrote: “Protect your house tonight. Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Team 👮🏻♂️ will be out on patrol.
“Any taxis or cars out there with Dashcam from Greenhaw Road around that time?
“Please have a check of your footage for a group of around 3 men.”
The police are advising the public that if they spot people acting suspicious near homes to ring 999 immediately.
