Derry/Londonderry Chamber of Commerce President Jennifer McKeever has welcomed today’s announcement of 256 high-quality jobs in Derry by IT firm Alchemy Technology Services.
Alchemy Technology Services announced earlier today it is setting up a European Centre of Excellence in Derry creating 250 jobs.
“The creation of a new European Centre of Excellence by Alchemy Technology Services in Derry is excellent news. The new roles created will inject a very significant £6.5m in annual salaries into the local economy,” she said.
“With an average salary of in and around £25,000, these are exactly the types of high-end posts that our talented workforce deserves.
“This decision by Alchemy to locate a new centre in Derry is a real endorsement of our region’s ability to meet the needs of leading companies in the information technology space.
“These posts are supported by the Department for the Economy’s Assured Skills training programme and will afford graduates and professionals opportunities to remain in Derry or even return home to further their careers,” she added.
“The company’s decision to locate to the City Factory will be a further boost to our city centre, following last week’s Danske Bank announcement of 67 new jobs for Shipquay Place.”
The IT firm will provide software implementation and technology consultancy to the UK and European insurance sector.
The company will also provide certified staff to System Integrators, Software Providers and insurance companies for the implementation of digital solutions across the insurance industry.
