Man to face Derry court on three bench warrants after skipping town

Man to appear in Derry court this morning on three outstanding bench warrants

A MAN who skipped Derry while on bail facing criminal charges is to appear in court this on a rake of bench warrants.

The man, known as ‘Todd’, was detained yesterday evening in the Ballyarnett area while out doing his grocery shopping.

He had slipped back into Derry but hadn’t counted on local PSNI officers knowing his exact movements.

PSNI Foyle take up the story on its Facebook page:

“Some advice for those of you who decide not to attend court in the hope that the matter will disappear. IT DOESN’T!!

“Just ask our most recent visitor to Hotel Strand Road. Todd had three outstanding Bench Warrants for three separate incidents.

“Having skipped town for a bit Todd thought it was safe for him to return to our area.

“So yesterday as he was walking from his local convenience store with his evening groceries 🎂 Ballyarnett Npt pounce.

“Amazingly at this time he forgot who he was. In our neighbourhood team 👮 we like to help out when we can. So we reminded him of his identity and the outstanding Court Orders.

“As usual it’s all our fault 😯. Again we are the worst in the world for executing these warrants at a time and date that doesn’t suit him 😠.

“So after an all inclusive stay at Hotel Strand Road Todd will get the first transfer 🚔 to Bishops Street Court this morning.

“At this point he will be able to explain why he missed all his previous appointments 😓 to our local judge.

“Good luck ☘ with this one Todd.”
