POLICE have charged two people following an investigation into a Derry fraud probe.
A 55-year-old and a woman, aged 31, have been charged with a number of drug-related offences linked to the inquiry.
They are due face Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning, Thursday, September 20, for a first remand hearing.
As is normal procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges follow searches carried out by District Support Team Officers based in Derry City & Strabane, supported by colleagues from TSG in Belfast and Local Policing Team officers from Newtownabbey in the Greater Belfast area on Tuesday.
As a result, approximately £10,000 in cash was seized along with suspected drugs with an estimated street value of between £90,000 to £100,000.
