DERRY City fell to their fourth defeat in five games as Bray Wanderers secured their second victory over the Candy Stripes this season with a late 2-1 victory at the Carlisle Grounds on Monday night.
Kenny Shiels side’ got in front through Dean Shiels after 15 minutes following some superb counter-pressing play from Shane McNamee.
The Seagulls responded midway through the first half, a set-piece that Sean Heaney nodded home, wrong-footing Eric Grimes in the Derry City goal.
The Derry City goalkeeper was forced to tip over a Sean Harding free-kick minutes later but it was all in vain as Sullivan headed home from the resulting corner.
The result means the Lone Moor Road outfit will finish seventh as they prepare for their final game of the campaign at St Patrick’s Athletic on Friday night.
