Said Cllr Cusack: “Every business owner knows that the issue of Tax and VAT is a minefield of complexities.
“More-so they understand the financial devastation it can cause if returns are incorrect or go unchecked.
“We want each and every business in our City and District to thrive and I’m delighted at the support and advice being offered as part of the Ulster Bank Boost series of free events for SME customers.
“I have been advised that the bank will be hosting alongside KPMG and Derry Chamber of Commerce a ‘Making Tax Digital’ session in the City Hotel on November 15 between 12 noon and 2.30pm.
“I would strongly urge as many businesses as possible from all sectors to register to attend and I look forward to seeing them there.’
The Ulster Bank have explained that: “With the transition to digital tax returns impending and a pilot scheme for digital VAT returns already underway, many local business owners are still unsure how this will affect them.
“Ulster Bank Boost’s ‘Making Tax Digital’ session is designed to give businesses clarity around what will be expected of them.
“The free event will be aimed at demystifying the process for attendees – telling them what they will need to know, how it will impact their businesses and when, how to effectively manage cash flow and working capital to save time and money.
“A light lunch will be available from 12 noon, with the presentation beginning at 12.30pm.’
