Eddie Meenan who was found brutally murdered in the Bogside in the early hours of Sunday morning
The 52-year-old was found dead in an alleyway off Creggan Street in the Bogside in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police say the father-of-nine had sustained significant injuries to his head and body.
In a statement this afternoon, the PSNI say MIT detectives have been granted an additional 36 hours to question two men aged 26 and 31 who were arrested on suspicion of murder.
A 35 year old woman and 19 year old man who were arrested on suspicion of murder, remain in custody.
