Edward Meenan was found brutally murdered in the Bogside on Sunday
The body of 52-year-old Edward Meenan was found in an alleyway at Creggan Street at about 2.45 am on Sunday.
Police said the father-of-nine had sustained significant injuries to his head and body.
The two men, aged 26 and 31, were charged on Thursday evening and are expected to appear at Derry Magistrates’ Court on Friday for a firsr remand hearing.
Six people have been arrested on suspicion of murder since Mr Meenan’s death.
A 35-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
A 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man are still in police custody.
The PSNI said that Mr Meenan’s family asked for privacy “at this difficult time following the death of a much-loved son, brother and father”.
“They have asked that anyone who has any information which may be of use to the investigation, please contact police.”
