Derry’s James McClean paid for six homeless people to stay in Derry hotel

DERRY’S James McClean has been praised after paying for six homeless people in his home city to stay in a local hotel for a few nights.

The big-hearted Republic of Ireland international, along with his wife Erin, collected six people and took them to a hotel and paid for their rooms and food.

The 29-year-old’s sister, Mary-Jane McClean, posting on Facebook, said: “My brother has a huge heart.

“Him and Erin just paid for 6 homeless people to stay in the Maldron Hotel for a few nights with food.

“We’re just away collecting them now and taking them to the hotel.

“They already left a wee man to the hotel who lays at Foyleside- the critter is buzzing.

“You are a credit James Mclean and Erin McClean.”
