DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses and information following the report of an armed robbery at commercial premises in Co Derry yesterday.
The terrifying raid by two men happened at Anderson Avenue, Limavady yesterday, Tuesday, December 18.
At approximately 11.40 pm police received a report that two men, aged in their early 20’s, had entered the premises and threatened a female member of staff with what is believed to be a metal bar.
The men proceeded to damage a window before leaning over the counter and grabbing two cash tills and making off.
The tills were found a short time later in an alleyway near Greystone Road, Limavady.
The member of staff was not injured, however she was left very badly shaken.
Detective Sergeant Molloy would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or anyone who has information that could assist police with their enquiries to contact detectives at Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1662 18/12/18.
Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
